One thing I learned early on as a practicing Mayan astrology is that when two people are in a relationship, be it adversarial or friendly, the nahual, not the number, is the key factor is determining which is stronger.

This is one reason Romney, a 2 Jaguar, was able to beat Santorum, whose coefficient of 7 is higher, but whose nahual (Earth) is far less powerful than Jaguar. (None of the other candidates have such an intense nahual.) A battle between a 2 Jaguar and 7 Snake would have been different story altogether, a much fiercer and deadlier battle.

On Super Tuesday -- March 6, 2012 -- 10 Republican primaries/caucuses take place. So today, I am making this prediction more than a week in advance.

As with all my political astrology predictions, it is based solely on the 260-day Mayan Sacred Calendar. This time I first considered the candidates' day signs and coefficients. They are:

Santorum: 7 Earth (Imix/Imox)
Romney: 2 Jaguar (Ix/Ix)
Gingrich: 3 Dog (Oc/Tzi)
Paul: 5 Road (Eb/E)

Obama's Birthday is 9 Ben (Corn). The prediction I made about him for this month, posted on my site, was that in February, Obama would get "...a surge in the polls for the 2012 Presidential election. Or it might yield other benefits for him, such as an increase in contributions for his 2012 campaign."

This was expected because in February he is in his Path of the Plumed Serpent, a cycle of nine ceremonies that are centered on a person's main day sign, 9 Corn in this case.

January 10 will see the New Hampshire Republican Primary – tomorrow. Romney should get a decisive boost because the Mayan day sign for January 10 is 9 Jaguar (Ix), and Romney's main day sign is 2 Jaguar.

At the time of this writing, Romney is being attacked by all the other candidates, but Jaguars are strong fighters who won't back down. The extra burst of Jaguar energy on January 10 could make the difference in his campaign.
