MY TZOLK'IN LIFE

Do you live by the Mayan Calendar on a daily or at least a regular basis?

Are you creative and/or a good storyteller?

Do you follow MCP's daily energy posts on Facebook and/or do you have MCP's Mayan Tzolkin mobile app on your iPhone or Android phone?

If you answered YES to all three questions, WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU!

The Mayan Calendar Portal is looking for user-generated videos to feature on its brand new MCP YouTube Channel.  We will select up to 13 videos and feature them on the channel when we officially launch.

The creators of the top 3 videos will be awarded a complimentary MCP membership, free ad spots on our web site and newsletter, and will be prominently featured in our promotional materials.

This is a great chance to be featured in a public space and let the world know how the Mayan Calendar has changed your life.  And if you are an author, scholar, workshop instructor, Mayan astrologer, life or spiritual coach or any other professional who uses the Mayan Calendar in their work, this video and our channel can also help promote and publicize your work.

The deadline for video submissions is midnight Pacific time, Friday, August 19, 2011.  We will announce the winners on September 5.

So get out those cameras and start creating!

WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?
The Mayan Calendar is still unknown by a large portion of the mainstream public.  Those of us who follow it know how profound and potentially life-changing this calendar system can be.  We want the rest of the world to know about it—what better way to tell the planet about something this important to humanity than a video message that can be heard round the world?

And what better voices to tell that story than YOU?  You’ve consistently told us how powerfully our daily energy posts have resonated with you or in some cases even changed your lives, so we want to give you a chance to shine—and share your story with the rest of the world.

Read on for story guidelines and other requirements…

STORY GUIDELINES
Tell the story of how the daily Energy of the Day posts on the Mayan Calendar Portal Facebook page (or the MCP Mayan Tzolk’in mobile app, if you have it) have either changed your life or are a daily part of it.

Be witty.  Be original.  Be creative.  We want to see the very best of your storytelling, public speaking, video producing talents!

If you don’t have video editing software, you can still do a great video in one shot.  It just takes a bit of practice.

REQUIREMENTS
Your video must be at least 60 seconds long, but no longer than 5 minutes.  Any video submissions longer than 5 minutes will be disqualified.

Your video must be in the English language, or with English subtitles.

You must have access to and be familiar with the MCP's daily Tzolk'in energy posts, either on our Facebook page, Twitter or LinkedIn, or via our mobile app MCP Mayan Tzolk'in (iPhone, iPad or Android).

The video must reference or integrate the MCP daily energy postings into the overall story.

To submit your video, please make sure you’ve got the right video file type (see “Accepted Video Formats” below) and fill out the MCP content submission form—in the "Content Type" drop-down, select "video".  If you experience any difficulties with filling out the form or uploading the video, please email us.

The deadline for video submissions is midnight Pacific time, Friday, August 19, 2011.  We will announce the winners on September 5.  Any videos submitted after the deadlines will not be entered into the contest.

For the full terms and conditions of this video contest, please read the “MY TZOLK’IN LIFE” VIDEO CONTEST RULES.
