Welcome to the first issue of Quetzal, the Mayan Calendar Portal email newsletter. The newsletter will be sent on the first day of each trecena of the Tzolk’in, with a list of all of the day signs and tones coming up in the next thirteen days. We will also include highlights from the latest blogs and other content posted on the Portal, special announcements and events. Mayan Calendar Portal producer and writer Birgitte Rasine explores the 2012 phenomenon from a variety of angles in this multi-blog series called "Decoding 2012". Each installment will focus on one aspect or element of the persistent 2012 debate, exploring and probing why it continues to fascinate so many people, and how it relates to the Mayan Calendar and the message of the Maya themselves.
Carl’s new book: The Purposeful Universe
Why are we here? Where do we really come from? Is the Mayan Calendar encoded in the cells of our bodies? Does it in fact explain biological evolution? And why has science been unable to explain why natural constants are so finely tuned for the generation of life?
