The Trecena of Rainstorms

Today we plunge into the deep waters of the Trecena of 1 Cauac. Cauac, or Kawoq in K'iche', means "Rainstorm". Its energy brings forth the blessings of life-giving waters, of warmth and comfort, but also the potential for torrential downpours, sweeping winds, and floods that can erode entire cities, relationships or histories.

These are the vast and overwhelming forces of nature, whether human, animal or planetary, that are at once simple and complex, violent and compassionate, that meander and rush through, that deplete and nurture. Respect their power and their fragility, their strength and their softness. They are a part of you as they are a part of our planet.

The previous trecena helped steady your ship through the storms of life. This one will put you face to face with your own personal rainstorms.

Tune into Don Alejandro's Global Webcast This Week

Latest news from Shift of the Ages: on August 15th, 2010, we will hear directly and in person from Wandering Wolf, Grand Elder of the Maya Don Alejandro Cirilo Perez Oxlaj. This will be a 2-hour video webcast that CommonPassion has arranged with ESO TV. To register for the webcast, please go directly to ESO TV's web site at http://maya.eso.tv. The webcast will be available in English, Spanish, German and Hungarian.

There will also be an in-person live event on Friday evening, August 13th, at Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest, Hungary's largest and most prestigious university. If you can make this presentation, please go to http://maya.eso.tv to purchase tickets or email liveevent@eso.tv for more information.

Finally, Wandering Wolf will be performing a sunrise fire ceremony on Saturday morning August 14th at Dobogók near the Danube River in Hungary, joined by local indigenous and spiritual leaders from the area. All are invited to attend the fire ceremony either in person or by creating your own fire ceremony at sunrise wherever you are. If you'd like to attend in person, please email liveevent@eso.tv for details. There is no charge for participating in the ceremony.

One of the main draws to this region of Europe to perform these ceremonies and presentations is that it is considered by many to be the heart chakra of the Earth. According to tradition, the Earth heart chakra is in Hungary, specifically in an area called Pilis where Dobogók can be found. Wandering Wolf's purpose in these events is to honor the Heart of the Earth, and the Heart of the Heavens. Dobogók, which means pulsating stone, seems an ideal energetic location for such a ceremony.

Please note that the Mayan Calendar Portal is not an organizer of this event, so any questions or comments should be directed to CommonPassion staff directly here: www.commonpassion.org/contact.
