Book Release: The Serpent and the Jaguar

Well over a year in the making, honed and refined over several Tzolk'in rounds, the long-awaited and much-requested book of the 260 Energies of the Day of the sacred Tzolk'in calendar, is here.

For the first time in a book format, The Serpent and the Jaguar brings you the Tzolk'in and all of its 260 days interpreted in the context of modern life and modern challenges. This book will help you redefine your relationship with sacred, cyclical time in the face of our demanding, stressful schedules that keep us all operating on linear time.

Many of you already know the Energies of the Day from our Facebook page and our Mayan Tzolkin mobile app, but those of you who do not have smartphones, or who just like the feel of a good book in your hand, this is truly the definitive volume of Tzolk'in energies interpreted for modern society.

Included are:

  • The full set of the Tzolk'in's 260 Energies of the Day

  • Detailed descriptions of the 20 trecenas and their ruling day signs

  • Detailed descriptions of the 13 numbers

  • Introductory sections on the Mayan Calendar, the day signs, trecenas, and the numbers
  • A guide to living with sacred time

  • Mayan Calendar tables to calculate Mayan dates offline

  • Original day sign illustrations by New Zealand painter and artist Maree Gifkins (along with the classical Maya day sign and number glyphs)

A very special thanks to everyone who took the time to review the pre-release excerpt and submit your feedback and comments. We would also like to thank Dr. Robert Sitler, Kenneth Johnson, Don Rigoberto Itzep, and Dr. Mark Van Stone for their indispensable input as this book was being written.

This holiday season, surprise a loved one with their very own copy of The Serpent and the Jaguar... and get one for you!

Next up: Mayan Calendar Astrology

Good things always come in pairs... and the perfect companion for The Serpent and the Jaguar is Kenneth Johnson's latest work, the revised edition of his popular Mayan Calendar Astrology: Mapping Your Inner Cosmos.

Those of you who participated in Ken's Mayan Calendar astrology webinars right here at the MCP last year, know how good this material is. Just as you think you understand it all, another layer of meaning and insight peels away, and you start seeing the forces acting on your life in a whole new light.

Here is a sneak preview of what this important handbook contains:

  • Mayan Destiny charts

  • Personal compatibility families

  • Solar and lunar cycles

  • The nine-sign horoscope

  • The meaning of the Year Lord

  • ... and the rare Path of Feathered Serpent, an unusually powerful meditative technique for awakening our "inner lightning".

As we write this, final proofs of Mayan Calendar Astrology are being shipped to us for approval, and then the book is yours.

In just a few more days it will be available online via CreateSpace.com, as well as the Mayan Majix online store, so watch your Inbox, keep tabs on our home page, or visit our Facebook page for the latest updates.
