Andres Parra

Deeply analytical and insightful, Andres oversees on a pro bono basis, the operations and finances of LUCITA, the driving company behing the Mayan Calendar Portal. Andres is also currently engaged with one of the world’s top professional services firms in New York City and Silicon Valley, California.  

In his previous career, he was involved with research projects coordinated by the psychiatry department at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, in collaboration with the Veteran Affairs Department of the U.S. government.  He also held various analytical and consulting positions developing and supporting financial and analytical models for the investment banking division of Goldman Sachs, the United Nations Development Program, and the natural healing/alternative medicine industry sector.

Andres holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from the Universidad de Los Andes in Bogota, Colombia.  He is a representative of the Colombian Fisheries and Sportfishing Association (Pispesca) in the U.S.  He speaks Spanish, English and French fluently and enjoys kayaking and flyfishing in his spare time. He spent some time on the field studying tropical species in the Amazon jungle and has traveled to remote tropical places in South and Central america chasing his fishing passion. He is especially fond of the Yucatan.
