This is supposed to be the "real story" about what might unfold as 12/21/2012 happens - what a crock!
What is your personal opinion of this film/program, as entertainment?
The graphics are over the top, its clearly designed to just scare viewers so much that they become numb - what purpose does that serve?
What is your personal opinion of this film/program as a social and/or cultural message? Does it succeed or fail in this regard?
This dilutes and distorts what is really valuable for people to learn and to know about the transformation in human consciousness going on at this real-time shift from the Age of Pisces to the Age of Aquarius. I wish they had not made this film, at least in this way!
What impact do you feel the movie will likely have on the way people worldwide will perceive the Mayan Calendar?
They;ll likely to either dismiss the topic, be numb to the very possible natural disasters which might occur concurrently to the shift/these times, or get so frightened that they become mentally distrubed - I wouldn't be surprised if there are a rash of incidences of folks 'going postal' in the weeks and months to come, among those who viewed this film - its too much!
If you had the chance to remake this film/program, what would you do differently?
I'd interview some Mayan elders and wisdom-keepers, for one thing, and give an accurate protrayal of what they predict as have the Inka (Inca), the Hopi, and myriad other indigenous tribal groups - and then I would give a milder protrayal of the possibilities, along with the peaceful return of extra-terrestials!
Would you recommend this film/program to your family, friends and colleagues? Why or why not?
No, too violent to the psyche.
What would you like to say to the film's director, and/or the production studio?
I'll be glad when the greed paradigm has truly died and films like this, with its sensationalism, will not longer be the slightest bit appealing to make or to star in or to fund or to view.
("2012" only) Roland Emmerich is allegedly planning a television series "post 2012". What do you think of this idea?
If its well-informed and evenly presented, more power to him!
