Provide a brief description of the film/program's story plot for our readers
An end of the world as we know it catastrophe film.
What is your personal opinion of this film/program, as entertainment?
I was both not surprised and disappointed that no true research had been done on the Mayan calendar information. The real pursuit of consciousness that the Mayan perceive and encourage was not even suggested let alone portrayed. It was as usual a 2 bit disaster film out of Hollywood that not only lacked vision but a goof script and good character enrichment.
What is your personal opinion of this film/program as a social and/or cultural message? Does it succeed or fail in this regard?
This film has no more cultural message than any disaster film nor i believe was there any intent to have one. CGI for the $'s seemed it's only intent.
What impact do you feel the movie will likely have on the way people worldwide will perceive the Mayan Calendar?
I do believe that one possible benefit to this film is that people will become less afraid of the concept of 2012 as the end of the world. A certain amount of numbing will occur and thus ameliorate current fear based energy the PTB have generated about 2012. Unfortunately it does not encourage or teach the general populace about the change in consciousness that is occurring or the rich possibilities that can be available if they are willing to participate in these changes.
If you had the chance to remake this film/program, what would you do differently?
I would research the Mayan's and Mayan calendar info and speak with the Mayan elders. Focusing on the current energetic demands for consciousness change and imagining what the world can be like if we remove fear, greed, war, hatred and etc. from our world views. Basically what Steve Copeland is doing.
Would you recommend this film/program to your family, friends and colleagues? Why or why not?
No. It's just not worth the price of admission.
What would you like to say to the film's director, and/or the production studio?
Make more films like Stargate. That was interesting!
("2012" only) Roland Emmerich is allegedly planning a television series "post 2012". What do you think of this idea?
If it's anything like the movie, don't bother.
