Provide a brief description of the film/program's story plot for our readers

it's the end of the world as we know it!

What is your personal opinion of this film/program, as entertainment?

the movie is entertaining, although there are a lot of pregnant pauses that slow down the action and momentum of the movie. not many characters to care about, the plot is contrived, the dialogue is forced and cliche. the main character i cared about was a cute little dog.

What is your personal opinion of this film/program as a social and/or cultural message? Does it succeed or fail in this regard?

the only social/cultural message to be had from this movie is the irony of attempting to project a message that money corrupts and rich people are greedy, while simultaneously spending millions of dollars to make such a movie, and profiting from it.

What impact do you feel the movie will likely have on the way people worldwide will perceive the Mayan Calendar?

hopefully none

If you had the chance to remake this film/program, what would you do differently?

everything

Would you recommend this film/program to your family, friends and colleagues? Why or why not?

it's a good laugh but don't pay money to see it

What would you like to say to the film's director, and/or the production studio?

for shame! earthquakes don't sound like roaring monsters. tidal waves do not crest in the middle of the ocean. volcanic fire plumes reach speeds of up to 400 mph, which humans cannot outrun. riding in the back of a pick up truck in the middle of the himalayans would probably cause people to be freezing cold. basically, look up the laws of nature and physics and try to stick with those.

("2012" only) Roland Emmerich is allegedly planning a television series "post 2012". What do you think of this idea?

the idea behind this tv show was already done, in a series called Battlestar Galactica, where the human race is forced to seek new life after almost being completely annihilated. only thing is, this show carried out this concept exceptionally well, to the point where any further attempts would be futile.

Any other comments you'd like to add

woody harrelson and the little dog were the highlights of this movie. i did appreciate seeing the las vegas strip crumble to pieces. last line of the film sums it up: "no more pull-ups"
